After completing his post-doctoral research training in molecular biology and other fields of biology, Reggie entered the patent legal field in 1997 as a scientific advisor at a prominent intellectual property law firm in San Diego. He was promoted to lead scientific advisor and worked on several high profile patent infringement lawsuits at that firm. Reggie also has extensive experience drafting patent applications and in other aspects of patent prosecution, gained from working with Grant Anderson LLP and other San Diego area law firms. Reggie has drafted patent applications in the fields of biotechnology, telecommunications, software and construction equipment.

Reggie also has gained valuable corporate intellectual property experience having served as the Director of Intellectual Property for a telecommunications research and development company in Australia. He also has sat on the board of start up companies as an intellectual property portfolio management consultant, and acted as a consultant to venture capital companies seeking to invest in biotechnology and medical device companies.

Examples of Reggie's specific scientific expertise range from molecular biology, genetics and gene expression in bacteria and higher organisms, including plants, and has published in the journals Molecular and Cellular Biology and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Reggie is currently preparing to become a registered patent agent.
